Antique Console Tables

Antique console tables have a number of uses, and the tables come in many styles to compliment any type of home décor.  These antique tables are not hard to find, but can get very expensive.  It is also a good idea to do some research on the type of console table you are looking for to make sure it is a genuine antique before you buy.

Console tables are commonly found in entryways and hallways.  An antique console table in the entryway can provide an elegant first impression to guests.  It also adds functional value to an otherwise dead space.  The top of the console can be used to accommodate items used daily such as car keys, mail, and other items you use on a daily basis.  Console tables are placed in hallways to fill a dead space or display items.

Tables can be found in a number of places including antique stores, flea markets, garage sales, and estate sales.  It is crucial that you research before you buy.  A table of real quality that is truly an antique will cost at least $500.  Most manufacturers have a mark that can be found on the tables.  By researching the marks, you can deduce if it is genuine and how old it is.

A console table is an expensive piece of furniture, but it will last a lifetime.  Most antique furniture pieces are made from quality wood and made with superior craftsmanship.  Pieces like these can become a family heirloom that can be passed down for generations to come.
